Massachusetts State Police Academy Information
The Police Academy MA is located on 780 acres in rural New Braintree. Recruits attend a twenty-five week, modified stress, live-in academy, consisting of over ninety different courses of instruction. The day begins at 5:30 AM with physical training. The recruit then attends academic courses until 8:00 PM. The recruits then have study and personal time until lights out at 9:30 PM. All classes, with the exception of driver training and water safety, are conducted in New Braintree. Recruits are released on Friday evening to go home, and return Monday morning for training.

Police Academy MA – Experience
After graduation from the MA police academy you will become a Police Officer and be assigned to work with an experienced Field Training Officer. Your on-the-job training will equip you with the special skills and knowledge that are necessary in the law enforcement field.
Police Officer MA- Benefits
Upon graduation from the MA police academy you will be eligible for benefit programs. While the details of the benefits may vary, most include:
Salary- Estimated base salary $49,000/yr
Holidays – 13 days per year, increasing after five, ten, fifteen and twenty years.
Sick Leave – 10 days per year with a disability policy for long term disability and illness

*If you are selected for the Police Academy, you will be hired as a Police Recruit. Upon graduation from the academy you will be promoted to Police Officer.
